Ingredients

Cocktail sausages
  • 2 14 oz cocktail sausages Use cocktail sausages for bite-size portions.
Honey mustard glaze
  • 0.3333333333 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp whole grain mustard
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce Adds savory depth to the glaze.
  • 1 tbsp butter For browning and starting the glaze.
  • 1 clove garlic Minced.
Topping
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 chopped fresh chives For garnish.

Equipment

  • 1 cast iron skillet

Method

Brown the sausages
  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat, then add the cocktail sausages and brown for 5-6 minutes.
  2. Continue cooking until the sausages are browned on the outside, then keep them in the skillet for glazing.
Build the glaze
  1. Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds, stirring, until fragrant.
  2. Whisk the honey, whole grain mustard, Dijon mustard, and soy sauce, then pour the mixture over the sausages.
Simmer to a sticky coating
  1. Simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring often, until the glaze is thick and sticky and clings to the sausages.
Finish and serve
  1. Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped fresh chives over the glazed sausages.
  2. Serve warm with toothpicks for easy grabbing; glaze should look glossy as it drips slightly.

Notes

Pro tip: keep the glaze at a steady simmer and stir often so it thickens evenly without burning. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat in a skillet over low heat until warmed through. Freezing is not recommended because the glaze texture can change. For a gluten-free swap, use gluten-free soy sauce.
